Hana Choi is a fiction writer based in Seattle, Washington. A native of Seoul, South Korea, she earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School and practiced law before becoming a writer.

She has been named a finalist for The Missouri Review Editor’s Prize, the Mississippi Review Prize, and The Florida Review Editor’s Prize.

Her fiction has appeared in The Missouri Review, Epoch, Mississippi Review, The Florida Review, and CRAFT, among others, and her short story Naked was named a Distinguished Story in The Best American Short Stories 2025. She is an alum of the Tin House Summer Workshop, a recipient of the Grants for Artist Projects from Artist Trust, and a fellow of the Jack Straw Writers Program.

She is currently working on her first novel and collection of short stories.
